If you have the good fortune to still be working in the Web hosting industry 12 years from now, perhaps one of these youngsters will be working for you one day.

Web hosting provider Network Solutions announced on Thursday that it hosted the annual “Take a Child to Word Day,” at its office in Herndon, Virginia, giving the children of its employees a chance to participate in an interactive day packed with learning based programs.

Network Solutions says the event was open to children between the ages of eight and 14 and they all had the opportunity to take part in seven different sessions, enabling each child to better understand key functions of their parent’s company.

The session topics ranged from how to create a web page, talking through the interviewing process with the human resource department and learning how to generate revenue from the Network Solutions sales team. Other sessions gave an overview of the company and the e-business industry.

“Learning more about the workplace can be a valuable experience at any age,” says Michele Krisanda, senior VP of Network Solutions corporate communications. “We set out to create a fun agenda for our employees’ children and give them an opportunity to learn about Network Solutions and about their parent’s occupation.”

The hosting provider says that many Network Solutions employees volunteered to spend a portion of their workday to host the children, which “is a true testament to the community and work environment that is encouraged at Network Solutions,” says the company’s latest press release.
