Web hosting provider Host Color announced on Friday it has added new software applications to its hosting plans, enabling customers to use two social tools such as Wiki software and social networking CMS.
The Wiki tool is based on popular MediaWiki application which has originally been created for Wikipedia and enables site owners to develop and manage online libraries or encyclopedia websites. The software is a scalable and a feature-rich wiki implementation, using PHP to process and display information stored in MySQL database.
The other social tool is Pligg content management system, which enables Web entrepreneurs to create an online bookmarking site, reference guides and knowledge-sharing Web communities.
Both applications are added to four of Host Color’s five shared hosting plans and to its PowerTools package, the company’s inhouse software tool which enables customers to add different software applications to the service.
