Hosting provider Host Color reported on Monday that it had made the open source support ticketing program osTicket to three of its shared hosting plans.

The osTicket application will be available to customers of the Max, Mega and Multi Domian plans, as a part of the company’s PowerTools application library, through the user’s control panel.

Host Color says the application will enable customers to better handle their own customer service responsibilities via their websites. The software integrates inquiries made via email or a web-based form into a multi-user web interface. It archives requests and responses, helping users to provide customers with faster and more accurate help.

Customers can migrate easily to osTicket from their current support systems, says Host Color, if they require a more advanced solution.

“We know that customer support is the most essential part of any successful online business,” says marketing director Alexander Avramov, in a press release. “You can attract a lot of customers but if you have lax support you can’t keep them long. It is crucial to have a reliable Help Desk and provide customers with prompt responses. osTicket is the right solution for that.”

osTicket is one of several new services Host Color has recently added to its PowerTools library, along with Simple Machines Forum and website optimization tool ColorSEO.

The auto installer also supports the MODx, Drupal, Joomla and TextPattern CMS; WordPress and B2evolution blog platforms; Pligg and MediaWiki social media; phpBB and Vanilla forums; OpenX ad management system, Image gallery scripts and other tools.
