Domain registrar and Web hosting provider Go Daddy announced on Wednesday that it has shown the most growth in sites secured by SSL certificates.
According to Web analytics firm Netcraft GoDaddy led in secure certificate sales during the month of August with a total of 2,221 new Web sites secured. Netcraft adds that in its hosting infrastructure, Go Daddy added 923 SSL-enabled sites nearly double the total of the next-best performers.
“SSL certificates are essential in helping e-commerce businesses thrive. The certificates Go Daddy offers are affordable, easy to use and come with 24-hours-a-day-seven-days-a-week support,” says Bob Parsons, GoDaddy founder and CEO. “Web sites that want to provide secure online communication are able to accomplish it with Go Daddy’s cost-effective certificates.”
An SSL certificate enables secure sockets layer encryption of online transactions and communications. GoDaddy says its SSL certificate provides an easy and cost-effective way to protect customer information and build trust.
