Web hosting provider Easy CGI announced on Monday it has upgraded the versions of Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and PHP it offers.
The company’s hosting plans now include updated versions of the software, including MSSQL Server 2005, MySQL 4.1.21 and PHP 4.4.4.
Easy CGI says MSSQL Server 2005 offers performance optimizations without any change to user code or database structure. In conjunction with the upgrade, Easy CGI has increased the default MSSQL database size from 50MB to 300MB. The company has also upgraded to MySQL 4.1.21 for its consistent performance, stability, security and feature additions. It also upgraded to PHP 4.4.4 for an enhanced version of a widely-used general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for Web development.
“We’re consistently ranked among the top 10 Web hosting providers worldwide because we’re continuously enhancing our services,” says Dan Richfield, president and CEO of Easy CGI. “Being a premier Web hosting service provider demands flexibility and constant upgrading of core services components. Our customers have come to expect the adoption of new technologies. It’s the Easy CGI advantage.”
